SUMMARY:Freedom Café
DESCRIPTION:The corner room of the Rose House at 1140 Clark Street (formerly Kristin’s Riverwalk & Hot Fish Shop) has been teaming up with JoJo’s Bakery for 6 weeks\, Jan 25 – March 1\, on Friday mornings 7-11am to offer Coffee from Nicaragua and El Salvador\, Tea\, and Non-Profit Bakery! The “Freedom Café” as the event is called\, has been very well attended and several have commented\, “…these are the best blueberry scones and cinnamon rolls I have ever had!” Some stop on their way to work or between meetings and take their coffee/bakery to go\, others enjoy a moment to relax\, chat and learn new things.\nNet proceeds are going to Mercy Village in Cambodia\, Baking for Freedom\, Agape International Mission\, and Wisconsin/Nicaragua Partners (W/NP). This Friday\, February 22\, the proceeds for W/NP from the Freedom Café will go towards the Cultural Commons project.\nWhile enjoying a morning snack and socializing with friends\, it’s a great opportunity to learn more about the Cultural Commons project that began construction last Fall along the Wisconsin River\, and will resume in Spring when the ground and snow clear.\nWhat and where is the Rose House LLC?\nThe Rose House is on it’s way to Stevens Point\, and will be located in the building that was formerly Kristin’s Riverwalk. The owners are in the process of putting together an event hall for both public and private celebration\, community\, art\, and history events\, including weddings and other community opportunities. Plans to officially open Spring 2019. In the meantime\, there will be smaller events\, such as the Freedom Cafe\, in the corner room\, both public and private.
