Thank you MariJe Centeno Zikín for your excellent work in gathering people together for the good of others! 😀💪🎉🌏❤️ It's wonderful to see the community embracing this building and using it for a variety of programs that will help improve lives.
"How nice it is to share good news: at the end of May, the Wisconsin Nicaragua Partners of the Americas Organization gave us the Colibri Estelí-Nicaragua Initiative an authorization to use the kitchen that was built by them to offer basic cooking and baking courses with People from the community, at the beginning of June we inaugurated in COLIBRÍ Learning Center (with backpacks and bags making classes), and within this center you can fit various creative courses that we will gradually consolidate ... We want to show you the great changes of that space that was given to us in precarious conditions, today thanks to the organizations: TAPAS-BELGIUM (Therapy for all persons in all situations) and to SHEFFIELD ESTELÍ SOCIETY (Sister City in England) our students will be able to receive basic cooking techniques and The women of the COLIBRÍ Learning Center will also have the opportunity to explore in addition to the gastronomy pastry techniques .... It is important to highlight the support of the families of the Children's Theater group who joined to support the purchase of the painting ... In short, it will be a beautiful space to share and enjoy delicious dishes and desserts, moments that will come to strengthen the relationships between all the participants ... Thank you very much for trusting in our project and in the whole team that make the Colibri Initiative a different place "... MariJe Centeno Zikín, ... See MoreSee Less
Thank you Dave and Linda for graciously delivering the fire equipment from Nelson Fire Dept. 😀
"Linda and I went to Stevens Point today. We had breakfast with two stalwarts of the Wisconsin-Nicaragua Partners, Bob Bowen (L) and Milo Harpstead. Both are Korean war vets, retired UWSP professors, and are remarkable active despite pushing into their mid-late 80's. We drove to the Partner's warehouse and unloaded fireman's SCBA gear, eyeglasses, and the stuffed toys that Linda collects here. We were hearing the roaring hiss of air cylinders being bled out, followed by the bell-like signals that would alert the user that the tank is almost out of air. These and other collections at the warehouse will soon be loaded in containers and shipped to Nicaragua." ... See MoreSee Less
